Fun in the Snow!!!

It has been three days since we have been in Park City.
And today it snowed.
A ton! Well like 5 inches.
And Carl loved it.
This was after I picked him up from a day care... And the snow was coming down hard.
Well not in this picture.
Aunty Stephy and I were having a glass of wine and watching All My Children (Love it) while it dumped...
Check out the frog boots!

Hawaii Tsunami!

So much has been going on the last few weeks. I love blogging, but by the time I get through all the ones I follow... I'm tired.

What have we been doing? Kauai... We visited my Grandma and Freeman, and we had a great time!!! Carl is totally talking and was asking for Grandma and for Freeman. That makes me (and I am sure them) happy! We didn't take any pictures... I don't know why, I had my camera, I think I was just enjoying it to much. Really all we did was watch Carl. On his scooter, eating, talking, figuring things out... you know being 2. We went on Tuesday the 23 and came home Friday the 26... Late. We didn't get home till almost 10:30pm.

Late that night I couldn't get to sleep.. no reason... glad to be in my own bed... thinking about Kauai. Kicking myself because I didn't take pictures... who knows.

Then 4:00am Chris' phone rings. It's downstairs. It is NEVER downstairs. He drags his feet to get it. Im FINALLY asleep.

Then...

Chris: "Jen, there is a Tsunami Warning.... the sirens will sound at 6"

Me: "Well the earthquake (Japan) was yesterday morning, and nothing...

no biggie go back to bed."

C: "No.. there was one last night..."

Me: "okay... go back to bed."

C: "Well I think you should watch the news..."

Me: (did he really tell me to watch the news... I heart the news and he HATES it... I think I am dreaming.)

"Okay I guess Im not going back to sleep."

C:"Okay let me know what they say...

but use the computer downstairs."

UGH

Me: (turns on the comp in the bedroom... see that there was an 8.8 in Chile...

that the last "BIG" one they had generated a tsunami that killed 68 people in Hilo....)

Long. deep. breath. out.

Okay now what....

"Sweetie. The news says that there was a HUGE earthquake and the sirens are going to sound. We might get a 6-12 foot wave... Should we wake the kids?"

C: Out of bed....

downstairs...

on the phone...

boat captians and crew are called...

dad...

then here it comes...

"gotta get gas, generater, safe, files, food, kids, high ground, who are we calling... cell service is out...

(it is now 4:45AM)

wait... okay, get the BBQ, what do we have to eat......"

Me: "Okay... Do what you need to do...

they say it wont hit until 11:30 Maui time..."

Fast forward two hours... The sirens go off.

(Kids slept through the sirens)

Did I mention that the sirens are outside our bedroom door?

The car is almost packed up...

what to do with the cats?...

BTW did I mention that we live *this close* to the ocean....

So the cars are packed...

the kids up and fed...

Carl is yelling about a big wave...

the neighborhood is out and packing at 7:am...

sirens blaring every half hour....

News and radio on and loud...

pounding on neighbors doors...

Texting... Calling... Where are we going?

stomach flipping over and over.

We drive down the busiest street ever...

Empty.

Sirens blaring....

up the hill we go.

Panic.

Deep breathing.

What did we forget?

Did we lock the door?

Did I bring the baby book?

What about the pictures on the wall?

Oh well nothing to do about it now.... Time to wait...
